Óscar Escudero (b. 1992) (DK)

Óscar Escudero was born in Alcázar de San Juan (Spain) in 1992. He has a Bachelor in Composition and Oboe from CSMA (Saragossa, Spain), where he was taught by composers Jesús Rueda and Agustí Charles, and the oboist Francisco Gil. He has attended classes with composers such as Peter Ablinger, Rebecca Saunders, Chaya Czernowin, Stefan Prins and Hèctor Parra. Currently, he is pursuing a masters in composition at the Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus/Aalborg with Simon Steen-Andersen and Niels Rønsholdt.

His work has been recognized with numerous merits: ‘First Prize’ in the ‘Thailand International Composition Festival’ (Bangkok, 2013), ‘First Prize’ in the “Premio Jóvenes Compositores Fundación SGAE-CNDM” (Madrid, 2015) and his works have been premiered by Sur Plus Ensemble, Nou Ensemble, Sarah Sun and Johannes Fischer, among others. Furthermore, Escudero is artistic director of FACES, an ensemble-in-residence at the Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus and since 2015, he is a professor on the Masters in Musical Investigation at UNIR (Universidad Internacional de La Rioja).
